Sito (Andrés Jr) is now 67 weeks 0 days old!
Apologies for the brief downtime there folks. I thought about it, and figured I would have a portion of the site online during this maintenance window. The comments system will be offline for a little while longer. In the meantime…

OK, not only does this guy have an amazing kit, but his drumming skills are equally impressive. And, of course, what an awesome set of songs to drum to! Hearing this made me nostalgic and now I want to buy Super Mario 2 on Wii virtual console. Here is the dude's website:
http://www.AndreaVadrucci.com/. Its in Italian though.
I turn 33 today! I don't feel old though. And I can still 540. That is my "am I old yet" test. When I can't 540 anymore, then I'll consider myself old. :-D
That is how I felt when I went running today for the 1st time in months. I usually take a nice long break at the end of the year from any kind of training and today I felt the urge to get started up again, in preparation for 2008. Its all good though, I can only get better from here. Now its time for me to start making serious use of my training area in the basement.
So how was the holidays for everyone? Sito got his first illness today (besides the out of the ordinary crap like the liver biopsy and stuff). He started getting a fever late Friday night. It went up to 102. We gave him some Tylenol and that made him feel a little better and his fever went down. The next morning his temp went up again a little and he was cranky and congested. We took him to his pediatrician and he had a slight sinus infection. Nothing serious at all. He got some antibiotics and we came back home. He slept a lot yesterday but is feeling much much better today. His temperature is staying in the 98-99 range and he is his usual happy-go-lucky self. He should be back to normal by Wednesday I think, just in time for my return to work.
Just to be safe though, we are isolating ourselves for several days. No visitors for the time being. We're planning on a very private New Year's Eve celebration at home, perhaps just me, Becki, Sito and grandmom.
I just realized, while sitting at the laptop with Sito on my lap (who is trying to type for me apparently), is that tomorrow will be my 1st christmas as a daddy! Crazy crazy stuff. I hope everyone has a fantastic christmas with their friends and family. Post what you got in the comments!
A few weeks ago I posted a news item about how I am now pulling my YouTube videos (and videos of select other users) into my own database table (
this article ). Well, tonight I had some time to implement the UI layer. Each sub-site now has a Videos group on the left side nav bar. You might notice that a lot of the videos that fall into the "Other" category really belong in one of my pre-defined categories. I have to go back to YouTube and edit the tags of those videos but once I do that, I click a button and the videos are instantly re-organized on my site. I felt it was a big enough addition to the site that I bumped the version of my site from 2.1 to 2.2. BOOYAAH!
I'm sure everyone reading this has heard
about it by now. James was the first person to jump on IM and tell me. That is just crazy what almost went down. It was interesting to see the first weapon highlighted in the arsenal of weapons… a pair of fake kamas. That is the only part I found amusing though. Now, I know the right to bear arms is a constitutional right and all that, but the kids mom allegedly purchased an assault rifle for her kid? Is she out of her f'ing mind?! Good lord!!! Anyway, I'm glad everyone is fine and this thing was stopped.
